History of Opals:
Up to the first half of the 19th century, Opals were relatively rare. But then their career boomed suddenly and made them one of the most popular gemstones. For ages, people have believed in the healing power of Opal. It is reported to be able to solve depressions and to help its wearer find true and real love. Opals are supposed to enhance further the positive characteristics of people born under the zodiac sign of Cancer.
It is reported in their legends that the Creator came down to Earth on a rainbow, to bring the message of peace to all the humans. At the very spot, where his foot touched the ground, the stones became alive and started sparkling in all the colors of the rainbow. That was the birth of the opals.
Garnet Facts and Legends;
The history of Garnet dates back to the Bronze Age (more than 5,000 years ago) when it was a very popular gemstone. According to Christian and Jewish mythologies, when God's wrath clouded the Earth with thunderous storms and endless rain during the Great Flood, a radiant red Garnet guided the way for Noah, ultimately leading his Ark to salvation.
Garnets have been widely known for thousands of years. Even Noah, it is reported, used a lantern from Garnet to safely steer his Ark through the darkness of the night. Garnets are found in jeweler from ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman eras. Many courageous discoverers and travelers wore Garnets for protection, as they were considered popular talismans and protective stones because it was believed in those days that Garnets illuminate the night and prevent their wearer from any sort of evil. Today science explained to us that its high refraction of light causes the proverbial luminosity of Garnet.
The ring setting and all gemstones are in excellent condition; the band is a size 5 3/4 now but can be resized larger or smaller.
