Hairwork Ring, 18karat Gold, Blond Hair Excellent Condition Circa 1860:

Civil War Era Original Blond Hairwork ring

Handmade setting of 18 karat yellow gold, made by a goldsmith who had the setting sent to a hair work artist to place the loved ones hair into the setting. The ring is from Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania; where Thaddeus Stevens lived, worked and is buried; also Lancaster has several other famous people who are from this area. The ring is 11 mm across the face of the ring and the finger size is 6 ¾ and because of the hair cannot be re-sized. The ring is in excellent condition in the gold work and hair work. The current insured value is $2100.00 as of June 2015.
