The age is about 1855 of this scent bottle but could be earlier. These little bottles held perfume or “Scent” as it was called. The glass is cut glass with the cut being softened so not to scratch the bosom. This type of bottle would be worn in the cleavage with only to top showing with a low cut formal dress. This was decorative and practical so that the woman could refresh when needed with perfume as needed at dances or formal affair. The top of this bottle is brass and had not been cleaned but could be if you would want it to look original. The bottle has a small chip on the bottom but hard to see, the size is 2 ¾ inches long. This had been in a collection for 20 or more years.
