The bangle is handmade of sterling silver and layers of gold in on top of the sterling then the outside band of the bangle bracelet is enameled with black enamel which has been baked onto the gold. The hinge is perfect and the clasp tight. The front of the bangle is set with 40 natural seed pearls. The pearls on the bracelet represent “Tears” in mourning jewelry in the Victorian time period. The bangle measures 5/16” wide with a 7 1/8” for the inside of the bracelet, which is a fine size for today’s woman’s wrist. This bracelet came from Philadelphia Pennsylvania and is circa 1860 and is in excellent condition and fine to wear. This type of bangle is really hard to fine in today’s market. Current insured is $1800.00 as of August 2012.
